Biography of Steve Gielda
My name is Steve Gielda and I worship at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Clifton, VA with my wife Sherry. I attended Men’s Rainbow Via de Cristo in the fall of 1998 where I sat at the table of Matthew. Sherry and I have one daughter (Kayla) who is married to Bruno Miranda and they live in Miami, Florida. erve as Rector and Food CHA Trainer and on the set up and take down team.
Sherry and I are both active in our local church. I play guitar in the praise band, Grace thru Faith and Sherry is an usher. We both support the Gracing Spaces ministries that provide furnishings and other home goods to families in need. Over the past 12 months Gracing Spaces has fully furnished and prepared homes for more than 175 families! We are blessed to be part of this wonderful ministry at our church. Sherry has never attended a Via de Cristo weekend and I have learned (though slowly) that it’s OK if people don’t attend. I have learned that people have different ways of strengthening their walk with Christ and though many of us in this community believe the Cursillo method is the best way….the reality is there are many ways for people to live out their faith in piety, study and action.rces Coordinator at Fort Worth Community Credit Union.
Professionally, I am the co-founder of Ignite Selling, Inc., a global sales consultancy and training company. Though being an entrepreneur in this industry requires me to spend a lot of time on the road, it also grants me the opportunity to visit many great cities throughout the country and sometime even abroad.
I am honored to serve as the President of the National Lutheran Secretariat. I have experience with being on the NLS Board. I was the VP of Outreach from 2010 – 2013. While in that positon I discovered the need to help our Secretariats become stronger and more align with the Via de Cristo Essentials. So with a group of volunteers we created the Rediscover Recommit Program. I am thrilled this program is still part of our community today and many people are still asking for it!
Our God has amazing things in store for this Board and I am excited to see exactly what and how it will all come together. I humbly request the prayers of all those reading this - prayers that God will lead us (our affiliated secretariats, the Executive Board, and all those that will attend our weekends)! With your prayers, I am certain that what we do...what we say...and...how we relate to one another will be pleasing to God.
God Loves You and so do I.
